What happened today in football?

As I don’t discuss transfer rumours, and I believe that the confederations cup is just one big safety check, it is pretty slim pickings for actual football news today.

Hearts are to enter Administration, which is sad news for them, and a real shock when you consider just how sensibly football clubs are run these days. Not a penny wasted is the motto used by all in football these days.

Hull City have signed Maynor Figueroa, keeping up a great tradition of promoted sides buying players from relegated sides. This signing can only result in the Tigers winning the Premier League.

The Coca-Cola Cup draw was made. I believe Huddersfield are playing Bradford, and other teams have been drawn against others too. It’s the first step towards winning a trophy that few people care about these days. A slogan for the Worthington Cup marketing team right there.

And that’s the day in football
